Dive Log

Download your dive computer via Bluetooth LE
Dive Log can directly transfer dive information from a variety of dive computer models to iOS devices with Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth Low Energy - BLE). This Downloading capability will require an "In-App Purchase" to add this functionality. Each family of dive computers has a separate In-App Purchase available so you only need to purchase the one that you need.

We recently added support for the ScubaPro BLE dive computers such as the G2 and the Aladin Sport Matrix. A wide range of dive computers can be downloaded using the Dive Computer Buddy (aka DCbuddy) Bluetooth accessory:

DCbuddy, a DiveNav, Inc. product

Dive Log can also directly download the Bluetooth LE capable Shearwater dive computers like:

Shearwater Perdix and Petrel 2

and the Bluetooth LE capable OSTC dive computers from Heinrichs Weikamp:

OSTC 2, 3 & Sport

as well as the bluebuddy and Tech Buddy dive logger accessories:

bluebuddy, a DiveNav, Inc. product

Dive Computer download support in Dive Log requires an appropriate “In App Purchase”. You can visit the “Store” from the Downloads tab within Dive Log to get the current list of supported computer models and their requirements and purchase the required support.

Download your G2 or Aladin Sport Matrix
ScubaPro has added Bluetooth LE (BLE) support to some of their newer dive computers including the G2 and the Aladin Sport Matrix.

If you use one of these dive computers, you can download your logbook directly to your iOS device. Once the dives are downloaded, you can either add them to the end of your logbook, or you can merge in the dive computer information into dives you have already started logging. Choose whichever method you want.

On the dive computer, simply navigate the menu system to the Bluetooth entry and then press 'ENTR'. The first time you download your ScubaPro device, you will be asked to enter a pairing code. The required code is displayed on the dive computer, and you simply enter it in the popup screen on your iOS device.

Download your Shearwater Petrel 2 via Bluetooth LE
The Perdix, Perdix AI and Petrel 2 from Shearwater Research have Bluetooth Low Energy built into them. Simply use the unit’s menu system and navigate to “Upload Log”, and then on your iOS device, select the Petrel 2/Perdix item from the Download tab.
Dive Log will first download the list of available dives on your device. You will then be able to select which dives you want to add to your logbook. Dive Log will then download all the information about that dive. You do not need to download your entire unit each time.
Once downloaded, the dives from your dive computer can be added to your logbook, or, you can merge the dive computer information into entries for dives for which you have already started to enter information.

Download your dive computer via Bluetooth LE using DCbuddy
DCbuddy is a Bluetooth LE accessory that you can purchase from DiveNav Inc. It supports a large number of models from a number of manufacturers. DiveNav is working to expand the number of dive computers supported by the DCbuddy and we are constantly working to incorporate additional models into Dive Log’s DCbuddy support. Please check the Store in Dive Log for the current list of supported dive computers. If you have a computer model that is not listed in Dive Log’s list, please contact us and we can tell you the status of support for your computer (many computers that are not listed as officially support may still work).
When you purchase a DCbuddy, you also select the correct cable that will attach between the DCbuddy and your dive computer (additional cables are available). Dive Log instructs the DCbuddy to download your dive computer via it’s normal serial interface, and then the DCbuddy transmits that information to Dive Log via Bluetooth Low Energy.
Once downloaded, the dives from your dive computer can be added to your logbook, or, you can merge the dive computer information into entries for dives for which you have already started to entered information.

Download your dive computer via Bluetooth LE using DCbuddy
The OSTC Sport (units with black buttons and serial numbers greater than 12000), OSTC 2 and OSTC 3 dive computers from heinrichs weikamp that are running firmware version 10.19 or later are Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy accessories that can be directly downloaded to Dive Log on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that have Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy support.
Once you use the buttons on the OSTC to select the “Start Bluetooth” menu item, Dive Log will recognize your dive computer and allow you to download your dives. You can download all the dives from the OSTC or just the most recent dives.
Once downloaded, the dives from your dive computer can be added to your logbook, or, you can merge the dive computer information into entries for dives for which you have already started to enter information.

Download your Shearwater Petrel 2 via Bluetooth LE
bluebuddy and Tech Buddy are dive logging Bluetooth LE accessories that you can purchase from DiveNav Inc. These accessories can be attached to your BCD or be put in your pocket while you are diving. They will record information about your dive like depth, time and water temperature. When you surface you can directly import this dive data into your logbook using Dive Log on your Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy capable iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The dives can be added as new dives or merged into existing dives for which you have already started to enter information.
Dive Log also supports updating the settings on the bluebuddy such as the date and time. You can, for example, update the date and time on your bluebuddy using the current date and time on your iPhone when you arrive at your new dive location, or you can manually set a specific date & time if you prefer to setup the bluebuddy before you depart on your trip.
